Teams in the Youth Team Challenge can be made up of runners, joggers, walkers or wheelchair participants. Teams can be composed of fellow students, staff, friends, or family and consists of a minimum of 14 people.

Any combination of youth, sports teams, youth groups or youth clubs are welcome to participate in the Youth Team Challenge. Youth team members can register for the in-person or virtual race and either in the main 10K or the EVA AIR 2.5K Mini Sun Run.

REQUIREMENTS: 

  • Minimum of 14 people.
  • Must have more youths than adults.
  • Teams can include runners, joggers, walkers or wheelchair participants.
  • Can be comprised of fellow students, staff, friends or family.
  • Members can register for the in-person or virtual race and either in the 10K or the 2.5K  category.
  • Create a Team form will close end of day on Thursday, March 12, 2026. All members must register by midnight on the same day.
 

What happens if we don’t meet the team requirements?  Teams unable to complete the 14 members OR if they have more adults than youths, will be disbanded and everyone will be automatically moved to the Individual Category. Shirts will not be team branded and everyone has to now pickup their race package at the Sun Run Expo. Also, all adult members in the 10K race, will be automatically charged the price difference between the Youth Team Adult Pricing and 10K Individual Pricing.

Once your Team Captain creates your team, they will share the unique Team Access Code with you  and the link to register.

Before registering a youth that is also your student, please confirm that registration aligns with your school’s policies or guidelines.

We encourage friendly competition amongst the following youth team categories:

  • Clubs/Associations
  • Elementary Schools
  • Secondary / High Schools
  • Youth Sports Teams

Members registered in the 10K will receive tech shirts, while those in the 2.5K have an option for a cotton shirt or tech shirt.

All tech shirts will be branded either with a Team Name (block letters) or Team Logo, on the back of the shirt. Please note that cotton shirts will NOT be branded at all, due to imprint space. Details on shirt artwork specs can be found here!

Team Package consist of the entire team’s branded tech shirts and race bib with timing tags.

Team Packages will all be delivered to the address provided on the team registration form completed by the Team Captain. All team members MUST pick-up their race packages from their Team Captain. 

There are 3 options for Team Package pickup/delivery:

1. COURIER – Team Captains will receive their team’s race packages between April 7-14, 2026.

2. VSR OFFICE PICK UP – At 1055 W. Georgia St, Vancouver, between April 13-17. Best for teams located/accessible to Downtown Vancouver.

3. EXPO PICK UP – At Convention Centre (1055 Canada Place, Vancouver) on Friday, April 17 from 11am-7pm OR Saturday, April 18 from 9am-4pm. Best for teams coming from out of the Lower Mainland and arriving in town during race weekend or those who have a PO Box, since Purolator can’t deliver to a PO Box address.

Please Note: For teams who were disbanded and moved to the Individual 10K,  you must go to the Sun Run Expo to pick up your race package.
